The vacuum frame in combination with the exposure lamp serves to copy the film positive onto the light-sensitive layer applied on the mesh.

The purpose of the vacuum frame is to ensure perfect contact of the film positive with the light-sensitive layer, which will ensure the correct copying proces with proper sharp edges reproduction.

The coated screen with the film positive attached in the required position is inserted between the glass and the flexible rubber membrane.

After closing the vacuum frame, a vacuum is created inside using a vacuum pump to press the film over the glass.

The vacuum is maintained throughout the whole exposure period.

The KASI VF vacuum frames are available in several dimensions according to the size of the exposed screens.

The available options are either separate frame (for placement on a table or drying cabinet), or a frame mounted on the flip-up stand for horizontal or vertical exposure.
